Kristin Dalleske is a freelance artist specializing in creature and puppet fabrication.

She is the grand prize winner of the Jim Henson Company’s official Dark Crystal fan film competition. Her film has been featured at the Atlanta Center for Puppetry Arts, the New York Museum of Moving Image, the Seattle Museum of Pop Culture, as well as the 2016 San Diego Comic Con and at DragonCon 2017. Her film also received an entry in The Dark Crystal Ultimate Visual History book.

 

Kristin has designed costumes for film, dance and theater productions. She has worked on multiple award winning independent films including Peak of Terror, which won the 2013 Dean’s Cup at the Stanley Horror Film Festival. Her original costume designs were featured in the dance performance Alice Re-Imagining Wonderland at the Strings Music Festival. Some of her other projects of note include costume coordination for Cirque Du Minute with Frequent Fliers and assisting on costumes and props for the live action PlayStation commercial Super Motherload.

 

She helped construct a large scale creature for the 2017 Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball and a costume prop for the electronic performance band Itchy-O. Kristin designed and built the prop thunder cloud used by Honey Hearbreaker in her award winning performance at the 2017 Sin City Burlesque Festival in Las Vegas.

 

Her creatures, costumes and replica props have been displayed at the Boulder International Film Festival, the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art and the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. In May of 2017 Kristin was hired to work at Jim Henson’s Creature shop on the Netflix original series Dark Crystal Age of Resistance.
